Nowadays there is hardly a mind that can clearly state it knows what’s happening in the world and where it all is going to. But nothing has really changed from ancient times. It’s been always like that. People lived with their dreams and plans but nobody ever knew what’s going on in global sense. To compensate this uncertainty the humanity had to have culture, religion, mythology.
Contemporary times are very mixed up and are especially hard to be understood. But as ever before there are cultural nodes that we unconsciously believe in and maybe even worship them.
Nobody certainly knows what are they in particular so nor do I.
The series of works named “Gods of Now” is just another artistic effort to imagine and visualize how those cultural totems of our time might look like.
I’m neither prophet nor preacher. I’m more like a frog inside the jug of milk trying to do something to get out. The paintings of this series are abstract and unclear so is my vision of reality. “Gods of Now” is just my minuscule understanding of beauty and modern culture tied together. No clues for what they stand for though.
Please don’t ask me “why” because I don’t know.
IMO IDK XOXO BRB
