This painting is partially inspired by Market Street in San Francisco, but it could have easily been based on other big city avenues. Tall office buildings descend as the street approaches the bay, and the sky whites out at the horizon. In the foreground is a structure that resembles a modern sculpture more than a skyscraper. It is a detailed version of of the monumental sculpture that appears in black in "A City".
