For my Independent study project, I want to pursue a topic I desired for a while and that is to capture the aesthetics of urban life. They can be pictures of buildings, people, objects or even busy landscapes of both interior and exterior spaces. Although I've done work similar to this in the past, I feel like I need to expand and to take my time and refine to make the definitive image that contains as much aesthetic vibes it can. Over this semester, I plan on taking polaroids, making transfers, lifts and taking digital photos and editing them to make them really stand out. Because I believe that in a place as grungy as a city, you can still find beauty somewhere if you look hard enough in the cracks and alleys.
