I remember collecting cards when I was a kid (baseball, basketball, football, Marvel, Star Trek, and whatever else piqued my interest). One of the fun things about card collecting was the variety of aesthetic from subject to subject, year to year, and brand to brand. Whether it was the artwork, photography, design, or the material the cards were printed on, part of the attraction was that they were all different. That sense of variety and collectability still exists for HAM and short wave radio hobbyists in the form of QSL cards.

Basically, if you make contact with or listen to the broadcast from another operator, you can request a QSL card. Each is unique and often features imagery that pays tribute to the region where the operator is located.

For this project, I had the pleasure of combining elements that are unique to McMinnville, Oregon... the Spruce Goose (located at the Evergreen Aviation Museum) and the town's annual UFO festival.

It's fun to know these are being sent all over the place as people connect and trade cards around the world!
