I was driving from Boston to Washington in June -- a 12 hour trip -- when I decided to stop in New York City for the weekend to break up the trip.

The New York state legislature had just passed a new law, and people were celebrating with parades and other events.

I photographed and chatted for several hours with the participants. A bit odd in their enthusiasm and joy for life, they were nevertheless very nice people. Congratulations on your new law!
