The Project:
Given the scenario of creating a pavilion through the funding of Amazon, AP, and Homasote, we had to create a pattern based off the country we were given after research (in this case Sri Lanka) to place great importance. The pavilion features an exhibit and a light installation inspired by Anila Quayyum Agha's artwork featuring our own 360 degree pattern motif design. From there, we utilized hand drafting skills to draft different views of the pavilion and bench.

The Concept:
The main focus of the pattern motif was the nature and vibrancy of Sri Lankan culture. A lot of movement, an island, a culture that still relies heavily on the natural world, the motif features a dynamic pattern constantly rotated and shifted to reflect the interdependent relationship and values of the Sri Lankan culture.
