Hot Air Balloon Typography

Everything starts with a blank piece of paper and a pencil.

Firstly, I fold the paper in half in order to draw a precisely symmetrical drawing. Then, I draw on the one side (it can be either left side or right side, I don't stick to one all the time). After it, I fold the paper and draw on the other side.

The next step is finding out some words which are connected to the topic of hot air balloon. I use a thick black marker to draw the shape and fill it with words.
When I finished drawing with a marker, I scan the image with my Brother DCP 7057R. I scan in shades of gray (400 dpi) in order to have a good quality of the image but not a very heavy file.

I use Inkscape to trace the image and vectorise it. If I made a mistake while drawing with a marker, I can easily correct it in Inkscape.
The final result is a simple and awesome graphic design which is great for custom DIY projects as well as t-shirt design and wall art.
