This is Jon Ritter, a combat jiu jitsu artist and epileptic. I follwed him for my multimedia class, taking pictures and capturing audio during a fight night. I chose black and white because during one of our conversations, he compared jiu jitsu to a game of chess. "There is always a counter move," he said, "and in fighting you have to think several steps ahead of your opponent, just like in chess." I thought it was really powerul, so I changed my story direction and shot black and white, just like a chess board.
