Human Trafficking Awareness

Human Dignity
By: Dean Angelo and Kenneth Roe
About: This project was about Brophy's upcoming Summit on Human Dignity. The theme this year is Human Trafficking, and our poster was assigned to make a sign for the Summit.
Inspiration: We got our inspiration from this poster in Mr. Davis' classroom. The words on the persons face gave us a good idea on how we wanted to convey our message, which was stopping human trafficking. The words are distorted in the picture, and we decided to use the same idea.
Sketches: We originally developed an idea of a curved words and human design, incorporating heaven and hell, but soon excavated that idea. We ended up only using the curved words and a new design of “change” on the top of the poster.
Drafts: The one on the left is our final, the other ones were compositions that we played around with to get a visual idea of what direction we wanted to take our project. The first draft (right) was a little too dark and horror-like, so that was eliminated. The other two were up for debate on which was better. The other two seemed more lively and upbeat to the message we are trying to get across.

Final: We ended up choosing this photo  because we thought it fully incorporated the ideas of stopping human trafficking. The curved words allowed us to show great position and organization of the photo, and the selective color of the girl really makes the whole idea of the image pop out.
