I See You See Me
Photoshop World 2016, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.
One afternoon, the conference arranged stations for attendees to get some camera practice. Live models, flowers, food. All set up in front of enormous windows with beautiful Vegas sunshine pouring in. The place was thick with photographers who were way more experienced than me. I'd only been sent by my employer in my capacity as a web designer; what did I know of photography, except as a hobbyist? But I brought my camera, anyway. Too shy to shoulder my way to the forefront of each station, I hung back from the press of the crowds, feeling out of place; watching the watchers, waiting for my turn to capture the light.
