Ákos Wágner's profile

Csopp /experimental lounge chair/

Csopp is an experimental lounge chair for office environments. The shape resembles a splash of water where the human body is the object hitting the surface. It is inspired by the relaxing feeling caused by watching drops of rain hitting the surface of a puddle of water, thus the name Csopp / hungarian for 'drop' or 'droplet' /.
The soft curved surfaces and the thick, rounded legs give the chair a loveable personality.
The concentrical rings of the sitting surface provide an interesting tactile experience.
Legs: soap treated oak
Inner support structure: 10mm steel rods
Foams: cold cure high density PU foam, soft PU foam
Upholstery: 100% wool fabric
All hand-sewn
Process:
This project was done at KADK - The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation in 2017.
