CERAMICS 1 - First Handbuilt Project

REFLECTION:
I broke this project before I could get it fired. It was my project for the platter/tray project idea. I had planned to create a big tray that would have black and blue at the ends. I used underglaze to glaze it before so after it was fired, I could do a few coats of opalescent white glaze on the ends in the shape of mountains. Then I planned to put a clear gloss glaze all over so that it would all be shiny. I showed it to you to get my grade on it and got advice to smooth out the edges. When I went to move my platter, I picked it up not too gently with one hand and it snapped. I was warned to be more careful with it before the event happened so it's on me that my project died. I wanted to start off with something simple for my first project and make it look clean and professional. I also wanted to experiment with layering glazes with a base of underglaze already fired on it. I was pretty proud with the appearance before I broke it, but you know, I broke it and there was nothing I could really do to fix it. I didn't wanna redo it since I had already spent a lot of time on it and I was also too scared to go near a tray ever again on ceramics.
