Type Specimen Promotion
This course expands on previously learned principles and incorporates more advanced issues such as organization, hierarchy, layout and grid systems. We were encouraged investigate ways to communicate content and meaning of text.
For this project, we were doing a type specimen promotion brochure for a typeface we chose. The typeface Frutiger was first designed as a sign and directional system for the new Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. The booklet was inspired by the element from direction system of the airport. I pull out some directional elements like arrow and dashed line into the design. The use of color is contrasting and active. Different scale, weight and size of the typeface shows how this typeface can be use in different context.
