April 2004
This project was primarily paper based. Working both in a sketchbook and on sheets of paper our task was to design a collection of rugs to be produced by The Wools of New Zealand rug company. We were given a selection of 4 mood boards, each with an individual colour pallet, to work from. I chose the tropical mood board. Using bold vibrant colours, I photographed and drew a range of flowers. These images were developed focusing mainly on recreating the flowers surface pattern and texture. I used a range of papers and media to create a variety of possible designs.
