So here we are

So long ago,

It seemed you were so far.

　

The struggles I've been through

And the things that I've seen,

Remind me of the wisdom I've gained

And the reason for my sheen.

　

I enter this new decade with my head held high,

As high as my expectations

To do better, to be better, to give more,

In all of my everday relations.

　

To love those that I need,

And to hold them dear

To let of the anger,

As well as the fear.

　

I sit here today,

with nothing but love in my heart,

Look out world,

A new era is about to start.
