BOOK JACKET FOR SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES BY CAITLIN DOUGHTY

In this book the author discusses society’s “veil” on death: our society hides it and when we see it, it’s dolled up. The tracing paper sewn onto lips symbolizes this veil. The loose thread coming out of the lips and connecting with the text represents the author revealing reality to help us accept and embrace our mortality.

This cover received a Montana Student Silver ADDY Award in 2015.
