Braille Packaging Design - Ma Visual Communications

MINIMALISTIC BRAILLE BOTTLE DESIGN
MA Visual Communications Project
For my first Masters project, I was given a square, I could do anything I wanted with this square and explore whatever area of design I wanted too, I decided I wanted to look into alcohol branding and packaging design.I started off by looking at preexisting packaging, looking at the shapes, textures and colours used.

I then thought about communication, and methods of communication that aren't used anymore, or aren't as common. This is where I came across the idea and thought of Braille, I wondered why we hardly ever see Braille, I researched into where Braille is used and the legal requirements, did you know Braille is only used on wine packaging because of the makers friend is blind and he felt ashamed that his friend couldn't easily buy the wine he liked?  This lead me to then think about creating packaging using Braille. These are my first concepts, highly minimalistic and simple.
