This is a student project that was given to us at the University of Johannesburg's industrial Design department at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. The aim of the project was for us to use the complex modelling skills that we have acquired and learned over the duration of the year to create a screwdriver for a company of our choice.
The CAD software that I used to create my screwdriver was Solid works. These are screenshots of how I modeled my handle as well as the approach that I took to create an ergonomic and comfortable handle for the user.
These are screenshots of how I modeled the shaft and the screw bit of my screwdriver. The screenshots also show my approach and the various sketches and features I used to create the component.
The screenshots below show my engineering drawings which are used to view dimensional information, internal information by the use of sectional views and detailed call outs as well as technical information that is read by using all the drawings in conjunction with each other.
