Sylvo
Create your space.

Sylvo places structure, meaning, and simplicity inside the home.

The piece creates an atmosphere within a space. In a space, it becomes the center point of functionalism forming a horizontal landscape. Sylvo condenses the current idea of furniture by combining three functions into a single unit.

Incorporating simplicity brings an instant familiarity with the object. Sylvo is designed with simplicity in material, construction, and function. Each material represents a function which communicates uses to the user in a visual and tangible way.

The user connects with the piece because they construct it themselves. Giving pride and attachment to design builds emotional connection without the use of individualized decor. I believe you are less likely to throw something away if you made it yourself.

Being the constructor, the user will know how to repair the piece. Sylvo uses no glue and the parts can be taken apart and reassembled. The materials are standard and can be found at stores near the user’s home.  The materials used are also renewable (wool and wood) and recyclable (copper).

Materials: Oak, Copper, Sheepskin Sizes: 2000 x 1700 x 600

Sylvo is based on my philosophy while predicting the future of the home environment. The philosophy is based on the principles of space division, morphing archetypes, simplicity, production, repairability, materials, and availability.
