Project #5
Gift Booklet
For the project we were asked to choose a talk from the most recent General Conference of the LDS church that we would like to share with someone that we care about. Using the text of the talk, design a multi-page printed booklet as a gift. We were to focus on how typography hierarchy works over to engage and invite readers to invest time in the content.
Mock up
Here you have different mock up pictures that were done using photoshop.
Mind MAp
Using the mind map I came to understand that since the talk was more for a broad audience. I tried to design something that was inviting and more general.
CONCEPT
Coming with a concept was important because with a more strong ideas was a lot easier to design a grid that was going to allow me to put things together with a good hierarchy to keep my audience interested.
FIRST DRAFT
With a grid and a concept I was able to design my first draft.
COVER CONCEPT
I believe this was the hardest part of the project. Took me a lot of time to come up with something that was interesting for the readers but at the same time to keep the respect that the talk needed.
COVERS DIGITAL SKETCHES
I end up using the middle design as a cover because it looks modern
and it's pleasant to the eye.
SECOND DRAFT
With all the colors and the changes made to the first draft I had a better idea how my project was going to look.
Final Draft
My final draft had a few minor changes compared to the 2nd Draft. To this one I added the name of the speaker next to the page numbers and I added more space between paragraphs.
