Public Service Announcement - Drunk Driving
For Studio Projects class, I was instructed to design a series of public service announcement advertisements on the topic of drunk driving. I decided against the traditional approach of raising awareness about drunk driving, which usually seeks to shame drunk drivers, encouraging individuals to think twice before driving under the influence. Instead, I wanted to create ads that would inspire not just drivers, but the community as a whole, to get involved and seek more preventative measures.
The project required me to make three different advertisements: one for display in a magazine, a shorter but impactful ad which would be seen via drive-by on a large billboard, and a more descriptive ad for a bus stop.
Pointing out that anyone is capable of preventing drunk driving is a fresh concept, and I felt like it was an important step in making people not just more informed about the consequences of drunk driving, but also more inspired to get involved.
