This coast holds special memories for me and by the way, it is geologically magnificent. At dusk, the light in Southerndown, South Wales is particularly rich. The place where the sea meets the land and the sky at the same time is special. This place is a magnet to surfers, walkers, thinkers, philosophers and photographers. It is vast, wild and one can lose oneself in it. As the sun goes down the mood changes. Time marches on, the day is at an end, for a brief time you are aware of the difference between night and day, warmth and cold, light and dark. Light reflects and bounces around gently as it readies itself to die for another day. People come from all around to share in this magic. To remind themselves of their mortality perhaps, to ride a wave on the edge of the ocean, photograph the changing colours of the end of the day or just to be at peace for a while.
