Can designers have creative liberty within given constraints?
Do we express freedom by making our own rules?

For my Graphic Design BFA thesis project, I investigated the relationship between design constraints and creative liberty. I spent 4 months developing original research and writing, specifically examining the posters of AG Fronzoni and the Whitney graphic identity designed by Experimental Jetset. From the content I developed, I designed a 70-page publication and a poster.
My colleagues and I designed and built wooden structures to display our projects so that visitors can read publications and view our posters in the Corcoran gallery.
