Photo Essay- "Of faces and feet"

I had the opportunity to document these beautiful slam poets recently at Hauz Khas Social, New Delhi. There were too many photographers documenting the slam and I was sitting in the front thinking what different I could do and I suddenly came up with this idea of documenting faces and feet.

Diksha Bijlani- Songs of Dissent
"We make martyrs out of dissenters
Saying they took the proverbial bullet for mother India
And we call countries nations
And somewhere, patriotism becomes nationalism"

Pranjal Asha- Letter to the syndrome.
"Dear Writer's Block to me, you feel like the 18 years of my life. You're like the only experience I have"
Vartika Rastogi- Plus One
"I never saw you again, except for in the pictures of us that I now loved, and in dreams I've had every night, since I've slept without a bedtime story"
Pawan Khilwani - Jannat ka Safar
"Darwaaze mein ek chotta sa daraar tha, humne jhaaka toh paya, Jannat ka rang Lal tha."
Sonal Sharma- Why I write about you
"how we were always there for each other. you didn't just have my back. you were my back. the spinal cord comprising of 33bits of vertebral calcium columns locked together, you were that."
Uppa Tsuyo Bantawa- I call you my brother
"Come back just in time to tell them all Men are not God sent some are Self Made"
Arpan Khosla- Main kaun hoon
"Meri uljhano par savaal mat karo
Kavi javaab nahi dia karte
Tum bass mere nashe mein dhurt raho na
Kavi ki sharaab nahi pia karte"
Abhishek Anicca -Eyes that stare
"Without any trace of tenderness,
Unforgiving and transfixed,
These eyes make me the star
of some unknown showmanship"

Aditya Bhandari- 3 days.
"Four syllables and a smile can cast such a spell, even Medusa fears your power, Milady!"

Aastha Singh-Fight Song
"Love
Is the only thing we know nothing of
We've brought alepo down to coffee table discussions
As if there weren't enough dead children to make the news already
We make passee conversations about the death toll rising
Yet our heart beats don't rise to candles
To hell with your candles we need forest fires
For this red canvas that can never look like art"

Shubhra Awasthi- Small Talk
"My mother has taught me generosity like a morning routine,
But I prefer to sleep in when it comes to giving away myself"
Nabiha Tasnim- An Ode to 16 years of Friendship
"If I told you 16 years ago,
I didn't quite know how to say hello,
Will you let me say hello again?
If I told you,
I still don't know how to say I love you,
Will you still let me?"

I would be really glad if you have reached till here and would even love more if you can tell me how did you like this project.
