Christmas Presents

One month passed already since christmas evening, but nonetheless I would like to share the presents I made for my family with you.

Candleholders
These candleholders are made out of spruce, which was burned in a traditional japanese way. Inserted is a brass holder.

Cutting-board
This end-grain cutting-board was made out of leftover wood. End-grain-boards show a very attractive surface and go easy on knives. Thats because you won't cut the fibers, which has another positive effect. It will not show scratches that quick.
The handle and the other horizontal wood are inserted to stabilize the board and prevent it from breaking apart.

Christmas Ornament
This christmas ornament is made out of ash and walnut. The snowman in the inside is hanging on a string. This was one of my first projects on the lathe.

Star-Lamp
This lamp is made out of cherrywood. The tree was felled this autumn and belonged to my grandparents, which will now be a remembrance. The star looks the same from both sides and is connected by magnets. That way the chain of lights can be accessed and if necessary be changed when broken.

I hope you enjoyed it.
I would be very happy to hear any kind of feedback from you, to extend and improve my design knowledge.

Thank you
