Book Cover Designs
During my last semester at University we had to devise and complete a personal project for our last assessment.
Having a strong interest in illustration and book design I decided to create a series of book covers for Hans Christian Andersen stories.
I chose to use stories that I was more familiar with. This included:
- Thumbelina
- The Princess and the Pea
- The Little Match Girl
- The Little Mermaid
- The Nightingale
- The Red Shoes
For this project I wanted to do show two different styles of book cover designs - one which is influenced by illustration and the other by graphic design. You'll notice throughout the designs that both a quite similar. This was intentional as I wanted the main focus of the difference between the two to be the front cover, not the overall book design.
