A prominent HVAC contracting, specialty general contracting, and plumbing company, WDF Inc. has collaborated with many of the country’s leading architects, owners, engineers, and general contractors on noteworthy construction undertakings. One of the projects that WDF Inc. has undertaken includes performing a significant portion of the HVAC work required in the construction of the Jerome L. Green Science Center at Columbia University.

Housing the Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brian Behavior Institute, the center is a 450,000 square-foot, 9-story facility which is the first to be constructed on the university’s new Manhattanville campus. Bringing together researchers from various university institutions and programs, the building features common spaces and connecting stairways, linking lab groups and individual researchers in order to promote creative collaboration. The building is designed to house 60 laboratories.

As the institute also engages with its neighboring community, the ground floor includes a public education center for brain science as well as a screening facility for community residents who may have mental health and brain concerns. The construction of the center was made possible through a record-setting $250 million donation from Dawn M. Greene and the Jerome L. Greene Foundation.
