Path to Recovery: Liberian Refugees in Cleveland

PATH TO RECOVERY
LIBERIAN REFUGEES IN CLEVELAND
Refugees are a potentially vulnerable group especially when re-settled in a new environment. They face social isolation and stress due to lack of access to transit and language barriers. Proximity to transit serves a great opportunity for travel to local services, other neighborhoods and employment. This project focuses on connecting major transportation nodes by creating walkable linkages. Spaces such as multipurpose pavilion, sidewalk cafe, sculpture plaza, overlooking community spaces and green/open spaces are designed to encourage social interaction.
