L'Aquila Earthquake Documentary

A powerful 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck the region of Abruzzo, Italy at 3:30 in the morning on April 6th, 2009. The initial quake plus dozens of foreshocks and aftershocks devastated the capital city of L'Aquila, the surrounding villages, and caused damage as far as Rome. The epicenter was 6 miles wide. Parts of the city were devastated, thousands of art pieces destroyed or under repairs.

A thriving city brought to its knees and thousands dislocated to nearby hotels and government camp sites. Amidst all this is the tenacious desire to bring a city back to its former self from the people of L'Aquila. Politics, economic challenges and personal difficulties come together in the story of L'Aquila.

The documentary is being edited. Below are photographs of the L'Aquila by the crew of this documentary.
