I have developed and designed an educational kit which can be used to spread awareness about waste and waste management in schools. This kit is designed for students of 4th to 6th standard. The kit comes with an instruction pamphlet which describes the entire process of conducting a session. It also contains a USB drive with presentation on basic information on waste, the effects of waste on the environment, importance of waste mangement and what happens to the waste after it leaves our homes. Along with this, there is an activity book provided which can be used to conduct some fun interactive games with the students which can help them understand the topic more clearly. There is also a waste segregation poster, recycled cloth bag, a dairy and a pen provided with the kit.
I have used a panda as a mascot for this project. The reason being that of late they have become pop culture icons and are easily recognizable by children of the target age group and also because it is one of the several animals which are effected by waste.
