Loneliness is Gray

Artist Statement

I have found through my art classes a different appreciation of aesthetic than I had previously or rather I can take the time to stop and admire something more for it’s quality than it’s purpose. I have found I enjoy trying to look at things people either refuse to think about or choose to hide behind. Sometimes those things are very beautiful almost perfect, and other times those things are stark and almost horrifying. I think it’s interesting to see how people view and choose to cherish one thing and condemn another. I also think it says more to my general neutrality towards the persona people choose to portray. The outer wall if you will, the face everyone is shown. The face the people closest to a person can see, and the face only the person knows.

In truth I like to observe people. While my photography does not necessarily focus on people themselves as it grows I think it will portray those opposing views.
