Critical Diary 15/16

This was a univserity set brief which required me to design and produce a book which showcases the work from all my modules.
It also included written segments where I had to reflect and evaluate my work.

The front cover of my book is made up of a geometric pattern that I created on Illustrator and used elements of this throughout the rest of the book to create a sense of continuity. In the real-life version of the book the white part of the book is a flap which comes up - underneath this is a full page of the pattern. I was mostly inspired by some of Samsung's colourful geometric wallpapers which come on their phones.
For my contents spread, I wanted to create a spread that had design on it, but still a lot of white space as I did not want the pages to look bombarded with words and numbers. I also wanted to combine the design and numbers together, to give a 3D feel to the page so not everything looked so flat.
My chapter pages consisted of a spread which included shapes similiar to the ones on the front cover. Above the chapter name, one of the triangles included an image of my work, (in this case, the triangle above the word 'A') which I blended in to go with the rest of the colours on the page.
This is one of the spreads which focused on a project of mine, featuring captions underneath them.
