The Medallion is the Texas Historical Commission’s official magazine containing news and advice about preservation projects, Texas’ historic sites, and heritage tourism opportunities. The Medallion’s engaging photos and appealing graphics bolster the magazine’s impact in Texas’ preservation community. For five years, Shayla was the art director responsible for the design and production of six issues per year. During that time, the size of the publication expanded, full-color layouts were introduced, and readership increased more than 110%.
