The brief for this project was to use a band or Artist and design their brand. I chose my brother's band called “The Candidates“. They are a funk band based in Dublin. I had to design a logo, a concert/gig poster and a CD case for our choosen band or Artist.
The design of my Logo for this band has two parts, the text and the graphic. The text is the name of the band.
The letters represent not only the “T”, in “The” and the “C”, in “Candidates” but they also symbolise abstract shapes
of trumpets.
For the design of the poster I wanted to display a clean and simple design. The text is clear and simple and provides all the necessary information. The image of the trumpet reflect the minimalistic design of the poster.
The CD artwork and case design continue on with the minimalistic approach. The clean imagery and the use of white space makes all of the
elements stand out very clearly and ties into the design and branding I chose for this band.
