PARLOR
‘As the theatre begins with the hanger, so the house begins with the parlor.’
K. S. Stanislavsky

Being located in the very heart of Moscow, Fabrica of Stanislavsky occupies a quite and unfrequented space in the center of the triangle bounded by the river Yauza, Sadovoe Ring and the Stanislavskaya Street.

The place selected for the pavilion is extremely convenient. It is like an intersection between the public zone of the business centre and the private residential buildings with a small solitary garde n and the theatre art studio; it can be compared with the entrance hall in the residental house.
The aim of the project was to engage people ’s attention to the site by making an artistic landmark and at the same time create an inviting and friendly atmosphere for both residents and visiters.

The pavilion is considered as a meeting place, where each can come together, discuss the observed performance or just leisure time, enjoying the surrounding environment. It is like a secret room where one can escape from everyday urban mess. This pavilion can prepare people to the atmosphere of this site.
