Watermark Kids branding
rebranding of overall Watermark Kids for Watermark Community Church
CLIENT: Watermark Kids is the children's ministry of Watermark Community Church. Their tagline is "Trusting Christ in Everything" with an aim to raise kids prepared to make an impact for Christ together. The key descriptors of the environment are interactive, relational, safe, highly active, fun, and creative..."controlled chaos". The desire is that kids feels cared for and connected. They walk away having learned something and had fun. The heart is also to partner and be a resource for parents. The client hoped for something fun and bright.

IDEA BEHIND THE MAIN LOGO: The logo image is meant to convey a trampoline or launcher in an abstract way. It's made up of 4 slingshots coming together to launch objects. Idea being kids come and are launched back into their environments with stronger impact. The fact they are fastened to the double circle symbolizes a strong knitted community. The idea of jumping is also active, fun, and experimental. I chose slingshots because of the biblical story of David facing Goliath. As with trampolines, the more weight, courage, energy, and focus you put into the the jump, the higher you go….so it is with "trusting Christ in everything." If a slingshot is missing, the whole trampoline feels it. I chose doing the circle because it is the friendliest shape that exists. For the main logo, I chose blue dots because they echo water as well. And blue is a good complementary color with most colors. Below is the simplified symbol they can use in other contexts.
