Game engines allow more direct, creative hacking with the benefit of real-time visual feedback, work can be done in a primarily visual way without digging through textbooks and beginner tutorials to control low-level computer rendering. Hacker-friendly modding tools included with Source Engine and CryEngine allow access to highly advanced, visually pleasing graphical effects and provided me with an introduction to visual coding in general. Below are some results of initial experiments from 2006-2007.
