Here is a close up master copy of John Singer Sargent's famous painting, "Ena and Betty, Daughters of Asher and Mr Wertheimer", that I painted during my Fall term of Sophomore year at RISD.
Bellow is my first attempt on the piece. I painted it while studying from Sargent's mark makings and technique. Once I had a better understanding of his embedded thought process, I started fresh on a new canvas and naturally produced the painting above with the same tactic within 4 hours. This study was at most helpful in achieving the mentality on how simple quick strokes can capture an immense amount of detail as quickly as possible.
