The Ed Shed - Logo

The Ed Shed approached us wanting a new logo identity for their educational search and review site for teacher resources. The wanted a modern and clean logo with an educational theme, the logo needed to appeal to teachers and educators but still feel fresh.
The main logo we developed included the word mark alond with the custom symbol we created. We used a great tone in the main text to create a professional feel, mixing this with the clean lines of the Raleway font we used we feel this works well. We also wanted to create some dynamic between the weight in fonts between the 'Ed' and the 'Shed', this gave us the opportunity to have no space between the words to make it flow better and creates interest in the main word mark.
We also created a stacked variation to be used in different formats where the main logo wouldn't be appropraite. This variation still used all the same elements of the main version but stacked to make it more compact.
The custom symbol we created for use stand alone and in the main logo was inspired by the neurons in a brain. The different colours represent the ideas and thoughts within the brain, and the linking bewteen the ideas represent the ideas travelling from one person to another. This represents the reviews and resources submitted to The Ed Shed site. We used primary colours for this to tie in with the educational themes within the logo.
