BUKU Music + Art Project

The festivals logo is this intricate eye; this eye is found on all merchandise and information associated with BUKU. Inside the festival, it is featured above one of the main stages and is really beautiful.
BUKU features five different stages. This is the Float Den - the normal use year-round for this massive room is to decorate enormous floats for various parades through the year. The lights projected in the Float Den are incredible and the crowd is always wild.
Artwork is found everywhere you look at BUKU. Artists are up on this platform during the entire festival, and it's really cool to see the progression of murals throughout the weekend.
"BUKU is my favorite festival," said Janie Ledford, 20, "The vibes are amazing and everyone is just having the best time."
Performers of all kinds are everywhere at BUKU. Hula hoops are the prop of choice, and these performers greatly add to the experience of the festival with their positive energy and movement.
New Orleans is known for its wonderful food, and much of it is found at vendors inside BUKU. Crawfish mac 'n cheese, funnel cakes, crawfish beginets, and crawfish quesidillas are only a couple of the delicious items sold.
Finger lights are the rave, as they look really cool in combination with all the other lights everywhere.
Costumes are really popular at BUKU. Nude is also very popular. All expressions of self are welcome at this festival; it definitely keeps things interesting!
Pretty Lights is the headliner of the entire weekend. Their light show is always insane and the crowd is wild during the whole show.
BUKU is an experience that all music-lovers should enjoy. The amazing music paired with art and great food cannot be beat; you will not be disappointed if you attend this festival!
