This is a photo I took on a cold November night in the middle of nowhere. My professor mentioned a photo contest from Photographer's Forum and Nikon and urged me to submit something. Looking at the previous submissions, I had my doubts - but instead tried to find something to submit last minute.

So I went and took this. It was the last photo I took and it resulted from getting lost and stopping to consult a map. On a whim, I got out of the car and took this final shot. Thankfully, it turned out. There is no editing done with this. The lights are from nearby town, and a driveway motion light behind the tree.

After a few months I had mostly forgotten about the contest altogether. Then I received the email - that I was a finalist in the Best of College & High School photography contest! Because of that, I can now proudly say that I am a published photographer! I look forward to continuing my photography hobby.
