For a course focused on new media, I was tasked with redesigning the Yale University School of Art website. The original site was difficult to maneuver due to the heavy contrast between an image-based background and low-hierarchy navigation elements.
In order to improve the sites functionality, I chose to make the navigation bar and clickable links more prominent and identifiable for the viewer. I also wanted to maintain the focus on imagery like the original site had, therefore, a bulk of the redesigned homepage has a portion for images to cycle through.
