The video above was our pilot episode. We got a lot of things right with this one, and there was a lot of room for improvement. We worked out some technical details and improved our timing, flow, and teamwork behind the scenes for the second episode. One of those technical details was our use of the green screen, shown below.
I wore a dark jacket in the second episode, because the green screen was reflecting too heavily on my shirt, and the green was coming through too strongly.
I also created a new background graphic for the news desk, because as cool as the old one was, it looked sort of low budget and public access-y - not in the funny Eric Andre way either.
The second episode had a cold open with a reference to the Super Bowl that the Ravens were playing in when the power went out. The joke was that when the lights went out, everyone was nervously trying to figure out where Ray Lewis was...because of his sketchy past! The joke didn't really land, unfortunately.
