My Role (Team of 6): UX Designer

My Responsibilities: User Interviews, User Research Analysis, Persona Development, User Scenarios/Flows, Wireframing, Content Layout, Typography, Iconography, Gestures, Operating System Plans, Complete Visual Design for the Email, Health, and Notes App
We set out to create a design language for a new set of audience. Our goal was come up with the following elements for our new operating system intended for kids in the age group of 7-10:
 • Color Palettes
 • UI Patterns
 • Iconography
 • Typography
 • Gestures
 • System Plans

We conducted interviews with over 10 children in the age group of 7-10 as well as their parents to understand the need of a mobile phone for such young children. We came across a lot of patterns in the research that helped us identify the major concerns, which were:

 • Parental control over content
 • Playful yet comforting & clean design elements
 • Major focus on keeping the child closer and connected to the parents
 • An interactive, friendly, and engaging assistant

Based on the design language, we designed 16 native apps for the KiddOS.
