Recently I've been watching a bit of television, mainly shows that use old fashioned themes. I took inspiration from the language and styles I'd seen featured to create this piece. 

I started out by brush lettering 'Swell' a few times in different types of brush pen to get the style that I wanted. I then traced over the brush pen in pencil so I could tighten up a couple of areas, and refine it just a little further. Finally, I vectored over my pencil outline, added colour and created a patterned background reminiscent of the 1950's.
