In this series of prints I combined the printmaking processes of etching and lithography. I first created a collage out of tissue paper and magazine clippings, manipulating space, perception, and proportions. I was creating a continuous landscape that included all environments. Including all environments allow me to speak to almost everyone. I then hand etched my own lettering on to a piece of copper "Strive to be the best... settle for nothing more, nothing less." No matter where life places us, we must strive to achieve our best and keep moving forward.
I achieved this print with a CMYK color separation placed on three different pronto plates, which I printed CMY from light to dark. I placed my blacks on to a copper plate and pressed the text and shadows seen in the print on top of the yellow, cyan, and magenta prints.
