Dream talks – Hovory zo sna
Valentín Beniak (1894 – 1973) was a Slovak poet. Primarily dealing with tragedy of man’s life, his oeuvre is focused on a philosophical uptake of the society.
The poem Dream talks reflects an unfulfilled love between a couple at the end of their life. Living by the moment, both aware of their fate but not accepting a misery waiting for them, they ignore the reality.

Dream talks is my personal poster project where the main motif presents passion of a man and a woman planted into the negative space, formed by silhouettes of a text filled shape containing the poem. The form and the art rendering ally with the content and create harmonic entity. The work captures transient moment of rendezvous in contrast to infinite love. To highlight tenderness along with seriousness of the topic, I used minimalistic form and dainty paper with discrete golden glints.
