Wedding Print Pieces

A collaborative project with my husband.

Objective: Create a quirky, rustic atmosphere with cohesive print materials for our wedding that were both informative and memorable keepsakes for our guests.

Solution: Using the typeface Lynchburg as the jumping off point for our aesthetic we worked its folksy, decorative charms into a type-based letterpress invitation design. We used crosshatched lines to create subtle geometric shapes and take advantage of the press’ bevel capabilities. We decided to use different animals instead of table numbers and Christopher developed illustrations incorporating the geometric crosshatch patterns. I created a sign to help guests locate their table animal and playful copy to go along with it. We also used this to create a wedding favor: a screen printed tote bag that featured a pig (the animal for the bride and grooms table). The invitation design naturally transitioned into programs with whimsical details of arrows and hearts. We even created a wedding style guide to help our vendors understand our vision.
