This a booklet that I created for my art 230 (typography) class at BYU-Idaho. It is a book that is meant to be given as a gift. The talk that I designed to book around is called "The Joy of Living a Christ Centered Life" which was given in the October 2015 General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is a 7" x 10" book.

 

In doing this book, I learned a lot about how to use a grid in design. I used skills that I have learned over this semester to create this book, like using styles for my text in InDesign, and principles like hierarchy. The focus of my design was to use type as design. I did this by using the word "Christ" and putting it at the center of the design to correspond with the message of the talk. I used element of the bar begind the word Christ to create consistancy throughout the rest of the pages.
