Manila City Branding

The logo is based on two elements: the national flower of the Philippines, the sampaguita and the figure of a charging man, which is based on a statue of a Filipino warrior. It is accompanied by the tagline “blooming with opportunity” to symbolize the amount of potential the little city has to offer. The icon system for Manila City is anchored on the concept of hands, being thatManileños are friendly and hardworking and often reach out to others. The patterning elements were done to mimic the style of traditional handwoven Philippine fabric.  The graphic elements feature some of the most colorful aspects of the city. Included as samples are two of the city’s numerous transport options: the jeepney and the tricycle.
